We stop the water your gutters collect from pooling against your foundation

We clear clogged downspouts, repair and reattach loose sections, add downspouts to long runs that overflow, upsize to larger 3x4-inch downspouts, and add extensions or reroute them so the water lands away from your foundation.

A gutter's job is only half done when it catches the rain. If the downspout is clogged or ends right beside the house, the water from that part of the roof lands against the foundation, where it can wash out beds, undermine walkways and reach the basement wall.

Our drainage fixes are above ground; we don't install underground drains. Estimates are free, often from a photo of where the water is landing.

We handle downspout repair and downspout installation in RI towns including Providence, Warwick, Cranston, East Providence, Woonsocket and Newport, and in Massachusetts towns such as Attleboro, Seekonk, Swansea, Fall River, Franklin and Mansfield.

Mr Gutter did a nice job of cleaning and repositioning a gutter for us. We had them change a gutter to lead water farther away from the house. Communication was good setting up the job. Crew did a good job of cleaning up debris after cleaning the gutter.

Ted K.Customer review

They were responsive, reasonably priced, and fixed the problems left by another gutter company. They ended up replacing my gutter system on one side of my house, and now it drains properly and no longer leaks.

Corrie F.Customer review

Great service. I had my gutters and downspouts cleaned out.

The local difference: no sales pitch

National gutter brands sell through in-home appointments. We'd rather just give you a straight answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a downspout?
A downspout is the vertical pipe that carries water from your gutters to the ground. It should end with an elbow and an extension that send the water away from the foundation.
How far should a downspout drain from the house?
Water should land well away from your foundation, at least several feet, on ground that slopes away from the house.
Who do I call for a clogged downspout?
Call Mr. Gutter. We clear clogged downspouts, usually blocked at the elbows.
What size downspout do I need?
Standard 5-inch gutters usually use 2x3-inch downspouts. Six-inch gutters, big roofs and spots where valleys dump a lot of water often need larger 3x4-inch downspouts.
Can you add a downspout to an existing gutter?
Yes. Adding a downspout to a long run that overflows is one of the simplest fixes for a gutter that can't keep up.
Do downspout extensions really help?
Yes. Extending the discharge a few feet farther from the house is one of the cheapest ways to keep water out of a basement.
